Steph's top three picks for best pizza in Winnipeg

By: Realtor Stephanie baron

There are many great spots in Winnipeg to eat pizza.  My favourite three places not only serve up some of the best pizza pie but are also locally owned!

First up - Wall Street Slice.  Located at 753 Wall Street in Winnipeg's West End neighbourhood.

Wall Street Slice offers up a casual atmosphere where you can make a quick stop to grab a slice or two or a whole pie to go. The New York Style crunchy thin pizza is my style of pizza! They have a dine-in option if you want to sit down and enjoy a beer or wine! My favourite move is to grab two slices for myself and walk down to Barnhammer Brewery for a beer or two!

My top recommendations are the Lush Mush and the Hot & Honey!

Next up - Shorty's Pizza.  Located at 53 Maryland Street in the Wolseley/West Broadway neighbourhood.

Shorty's Pizza will not disappoint.  Go for the vintage vibe, stay for the New York Style pizza. The atmosphere in this restaurant is so fun, you feel like you have been taken back 70 years in time.  They of course have dine-in and take out options. I love to go for a sit down meal and enjoy their Shorty's lager, share their Kale Caesar Salad and either the Bacon & Mushroom or Spicy Sausage Pizza.  But before you leave, you HAVE to order the Banana Pudding. It is the best!

Finally - Parcel Pizza. Located at 221-A Stradbrook Ave in the Osborne/downtown area.

Parcel Pizza is the perfect date night spot or a place to go with a few friends for an elevated pizza experience.  The restaurant offers 2 floors with a dark and chic mid-century feel with some throw back design details and local artistry. If you can, I recommend reserving one of the round booths on the second floor.

The dining experience is fantastic - the staff there are great at making recommendations. I usually start off with one of their craft cocktails and then move over to a red wine with dinner. I would recommend the Gem Salad to share and my top two favourite pies are the Tropic and Nandor.  If you like to dip your pizza, you have to try their ranch.  It is made in-house and might be the best ranch known to humankind.
