The Commute
One of the reasons you live in East St. Paul is because of the commute. People that are drawn to life in East St. Paul like living slightly outside of town, and enjoy a bit of distance between the busyness of their workday and the serenity of their home life.
Nonetheless, there are two main highways connecting East St. Paul to Winnipeg - Henderson Hwy and Lagimodiere Blvd. Both intersections with the Perimeter Highway have been recently upgraded to increase efficiency and allow for better traffic flow, allowing for smooth and straightforward travel to and from the city.

People also love the East St. Paul Curling Club as well as its proximity to Gateway Recreation Centre. East St. Paul is also hugely popular with snowmobilers.

Proximity to Birds Hill Provincial Park is a huge feature of Life in East St. Paul. Birds Hill Park is an 8300-acre recreational paradise located just to the east of East St. Paul.
Offering a huge network of trails for horseback riding, snowmobiling, rollerblading or biking, a huge lake and beach, Birds Hill Park Ranch (offering boarding, trail rides and hayrides), polo fields, camping, and plenty more, the park also host the internationally-acclaimed Winnipeg Folk Festival in July of each year.

Silver Fox Estates is one of the best-kept secrets in Manitoba. This is a park built on an old quarry, offering spectacular views and fantastic walking trails. Accessible to all in the community, this is a fantastic spot to walk the dog, cycle, and enjoy life. Homes surrounding the area are obviously at a big premium—and if you ever get the chance to buy one, you should jump!
Springhill Winter Park is also just outside of town and offers skiing, snowboarding and tubing, plus lessons and rentals.
Summer in East St. Paul is also fantastic! Located about 10 Km from top-tier golf courses Elmhurst Golf & Country Club and Pine Ridge Golf Club and 72 Km from Winnipeg Beach— you can be out on the water in less than an hour from home.

Otherwise, East St. Paul real estate is nearly all single-family homes, with the bulk of them priced between $400 and $700k. Most East St. Paul housing was built in the 1980s, so generally the lower the price point, the more mechanical or cosmetic updates there will be to do. For $500k you can easily get a comfortable family home on a generously sized lot.
